I have a couple like this in front of my bedroom window… I can hear them right now actually as I watch this 💗 love them, had seen them have babies and teach them to fly … and when you hear them make sounds a night , you know it’s 4 am 🤣🤣💗

How old is that nest? And is it common to spend so much time and energy on nest maintenance?

No wonder Shadow feels the need to keep adding sticks to the nest. This little girl is so lively.

Jays have a reason to be protective of their babies. In my hood, a jays nest was being attacked by ravens.

Interesting, I watch the Kansas Bald Eagles, and there's a difference. The two females' Eaglets have fledged but still return to the nest occasionally. The dad and mom still bring food. Ellie, the mom, is so sweet. They're still a family. I was upset when Sprite came back, and Jackie and Shadow flew away. Sprite tried to go to the other tree with them, but, again, they flew away from her. She eventually went to a tree with another pair of Eagles. I know nothing about Eagles, but Jackie appears to care less about the babies. Imo: she's not likable.

It’s always amusing the way small birds seem to object to J&S coming to the nest in the summer. Like they are saying, “You abandoned it, it’s ours, now!”

Their continual nest visiting is amazing, Florida bald eagles don't return to the nest until pre breeding time & summer storms also do damage to the nest.
